C.O.P.D and Bird droppings

My Sister has C.O.P.D. and has 75% oxygen which she found out just recently. It is at a point where she can not walk very far. Her Doctor is sending her for another test which is called a nuclear test and one more that I can't remember the name. NOW,...I'm wondering since she has a love bird flying around the house and has droppings here and there, that which she cleans up regularly, how dangerous can droppings be for her? She has been coughing up much more recently and has coughed up pink mucuse , and has been having extreme allergies also.
